Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner unveiled a new plan for guns and gun control as he used his amendatory veto power to propose a 72-hour waiting period before sales of all guns in Illinois. Todd Vandermyde the executive director of the Illinois Gun Dealers Trade Association joined Dan and Amy with reaction:

The Cheesecake Factory says it has suspended workers involved in an incident in which a black customer reportedly was subjected to verbal abuse by restaurant staff over his “Make America Great Again” cap.

 

 

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is blaming Hamas for the deadly violence in Gaza. He also defended the Israeli military’s response to the unrest, saying it didn’t go too far.

 

St. Louis prosecutors announced Monday that they have dropped a felony invasion-of-privacy charge against Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens. Greitens’ representatives have made accusations of misconduct in the case, focusing on the hiring of a private investigator, whom Greitens’ lawyers have accused of perjury.

 

The North Korean government threatened to cancel the upcoming summit between Trump and Kim Jong Un, the Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency reported. It appears that North Korea was not happy with military drills that were jointly being executed by the US and South Korea.

 

Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee believe there was never any “credible evidence or intelligence” explaining why the FBI opened an investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia in May 2016, Chairman Devin Nunes said Tuesday on ‘Fox & Friends.’

 

Author Tom Wolfe died on Tuesday at the age of 88.
