Chicago’s Morning Answer Show Notes: Wednesday 9/13/2017

John Lott Jr. the President of the Crime Prevention Research Center wrote a column suggesting the idea of requiring background checks to register to vote. He joined Dan and Amy to talk about the idea and the reaction he has received:

During his 60 Minutes interview over the weekend, Steve Bannon took aim at the Bush administration, calling them “Idiots” who were “wrong about everything.” Constitutional Lawyer, Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran and National Review columnist David French joined Dan and Amy with reaction to Bannon’s comments:

CNN Senior Economist and former Trump campaign adviser Stephen Moore joined Dan and Amy to talk about the prospects for tax reform in Congress:

Rod Blagojevich’s media tour continues with his interview with NBC 5 from prison. Patti Blagojevich says Rod has not apologized for what happened because he does not believe he did anything wrong.

 

SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill got into a heated Twitter discussion that quickly devolved into her calling President Donald Trump a “white supremacist.” ESPN has since issued a statement stating that Hill’s actions have been addressed.

 

Singer Stevie Wonder kicked off Tuesday’s star studded Hand In Hand telethon to raise money for hurricane recovery by getting political. Wonder started the show by saying, “Anyone who believes that there’s no such thing as global warming must be blind or unintelligent.”.

 

Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that she would have been called a “genius” and her campaign “perfect” if she had won the 2016 presidential election.

 

Some groups are calling for Senators Dick Durbin and Diane Feinstein to resign. They are objecting to questions to a Catholic nominee about her religious beliefs.
