State Senator Li Arellano (R-37th) joined Jeanne Ives and Jim Iuorio on Chicago’s Morning Answer to sharply criticize the Bears mega-project bill.
Arellano called it a desperate “band-aid” from Governor Pritzker, who fears losing the iconic team to Indiana. The bill offers massive 40-year property tax freezes to big corporations while shifting costs onto regular homeowners and small businesses.
He slammed 20% minority set-asides and mandatory Project Labor Agreements as union-driven giveaways.“High property taxes hurt everyone — young families, entrepreneurs, not just the Bears,” Arellano said. He urged addressing Illinois’ core problems: explosive spending, massive pension debt, and overregulation, driving businesses like Caterpillar away.
True relief requires spending cuts, pension reform, and fair redistricting — not more corporate handouts.
