Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson announced new measures to combat violence in Chicago, while other city politicians, pastors and residents called for more holistic solutions.
On weekdays the Chicago Police Department will add 430 officers in the most violent south and west side neighborhoods, and 600 officers on the weekend.
