Illinois Remains Third-Worst “Sinkhole” State in the U.S.

The non-profit group Truth in Accounting has released its annual Financial State of the States report, detailing the financial health of all fifty states. In the new report, Illinois ranks better than only New Jersey and Connecticut in the amount each taxpayer would have to pay to render the state debt-free. That amount? $45,500. Sheila Weinberg, the founder and CEO of Truth in Accounting joined Dan and Amy to provide details from this new report.

The taxpayers aren’t getting a feel for how much government really costs because they aren’t paying for the government they’re getting because the costs are being hidden.
