America is preparing military options in case sanctions imposed on North Korea fail, according to the most senior general in the US armed forces. The two nations exchanged military threats last week, with North Korea warning it has developed a plan to strike the US Pacific territory of Guam. Just how likely is a conflict? Dan and Amy got reaction to the situation from Former US Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton:

The Illinois Senate may have voted to override Gov. Bruce Rauner’s amendatory veto of a bill that rewrites the school funding formula, but that doesn’t mean a resolution of the issue is imminent. The House now gets 15 days to take up the measure. Illinois State Representative Mark Batinick joined Dan and Amy with reaction to the school funding debate:

The White House said President Trump “of course” condemns white supremacists after failing to do so during a short speech following the death of a 32-year-old woman Saturday in Charlottesville, Va. Trump is taking head for condemning violence “from all sides” rather than condemning the protesters.

The Illinois State Board of Education, or ISBE, on Aug. 12 released the results of Gov. Bruce Rauner’s amendatory veto of Senate Bill 1, a school funding plan. The results are favorable to an overwhelming number of school districts across the state.

 

After criticizing Steve Bannon on ABC’s This Week, Anthony Scaramucci did it again in an online-only segment. ABC News political director Rick Klein asked him a bunch of viewer questions on many issues from leaks to Reince Priebus, but Charlottesville came up again.
