The person who filmed the video of a man being forcibly removed from a United Airlines flight over the weekend says security is not to blame for the situation. Bridges did place blame on United Airlines for provoking David Dao, a 69-year-old Vietnamese-American doctor, and escalating the situation.

 

The rift between the United States and Russia was laid bare Wednesday when Secretary of State Rex Tillerson held his first direct talks with Russia’s president. Their discussions failed to ease deepening tensions over Syria and Washington’s demands that Moscow abandon its main Middle East ally.

 

Dean Angelo has lost the Fraternal Order of Police Chicago Lodge 7 election for union president. Patrolman Kevin Graham was elected president in a runoff election with Angelo. Graham received 56 percent of the vote, Angelo received 44 percent.

 

Vice President Mike Pence’s scheduled commencement speech at the University of Notre Dame has prompted a protest by senior students who say that Pence’s presence on campus will make them “feel unsafe.”
