Following up on the July jobs numbers that were releases on Friday, Goldman Sachs economists say the outlook for jobs is even better than they thought, and unemployment could go as low as 3.8. CNBC Contributor James Pethokoukis joined Dan and Amy with reaction to the July jobs numbers, student load debt and the Republican tax reform effort in Congress:

November’s US election was, according to Kellyanne Conway, the “Forgotten Man” election. President Trump has returned to this theme from time to time, including last week in West Virginia. Author Amity Shlaes joined Dan and Amy to talk about her book “The Forgotten Man”:

Attorney General Jeff Sessions had harsh words for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel on Monday after he and other city leaders announced a lawsuit against the Justice Department over its policy regarding so-called sanctuary cities.

 

Google has fired an employee who wrote an internal memo blasting the web company’s diversity policies, creating a firestorm across Silicon Valley. James Damore, the Google engineer who wrote the note, confirmed his dismissal in an email, saying that he had been fired for “perpetuating gender stereotypes.” He said he’s “currently exploring all possible legal remedies.”
