At an event on tax reform, President Trump pledged support to the families of the victims of the Capital Gazette newsroom shooting and says his administration will do everything in its power to reduce violent crime and protect innocent life.

 

The staff of the Capital Gazette has released a thank you message in the wake of last week’s shooting. The message includes a reference to President Trump’s comments about the news media.

 

Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin said Friday that President Trump is “fomenting violence” against the press. In a panel appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Rubin, a conservative columnist who has been a vocal critic of Trump, suggested that the president’s frequent verbal attacks on the media helped lead to the deadly shooting at a Maryland newsroom.

 

President Trump will announced his pick for the US Supreme Court on Monday July 9th. The Washington Examiner has compiled a helpful list of the top contenders.

 

Thousands of people gathered in Daley Center Plaza on a sweltering Saturday to protest the Trump administration’s immigration policies, part of a nationwide day of outrage sparked by the separation of illegal immigrant families at the southwest border. Some of the more strident demonstrators called for the abolition of ICE.

The manager of a Vancouver, Canada restaurant who ordered a customer to remove his “Make America Great Again” hat or not receive service was fired for not following the restaurant’s “philosophy of tolerance.”
