Arizona Senator and former Republican Presidential nominee died over the weekend at the age of 81. Two former presidents are expected to speak at Sen. John McCain’s service and he will lie in state in both the nation’s capital and Arizona as part of a cross-country funeral procession ending with his burial at the U.S. Naval Academy.
A Chicago mother, Corey Widen, suffered the consequences of having a nosy neighbor when she allowed her 8-year-old daughter, Dorothy, take their family dog on a walk by herself around the block. A neighbor called the police.
A fifth grade student in North Carolina got in trouble for calling his teacher “ma’am.” The teacher then forced the poor child to fill the front and back side of a sheet of notebook paper with the word “ma’am” as punishment and demanded he get the sheet signed by his parents.
Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School Principal Lara Zelski decided students will no longer recite the Pledge of Allegiance during the school’s morning meeting agenda, which she described to parents as “an effort to begin our day as a fully inclusive and connected community.”
