The White House authorized the F.B.I. to expand its abbreviated investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh by interviewing anyone it deems necessary as long as the review is finished by the end of the week, according to two people briefed on the matter.

Julie Swetnick, the woman who accused Brett Kavanaugh of drugging women and participating in gang rapes in the 1980s, spoke out at length about her allegations in an interview that aired on MSNBC Monday.

President Donald Trump held a press conference on Monday during which he suggested a Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee was a drinker who he has seen in “compromising” and “very bad situations.”

Andrew McCarthy for the New York Post: The media scrutinizes Kavanaugh but gives Ted Cruz’s challenger a pass.

Bob Woodson for The Hill: How the elite hijacked the #MeToo movement.
