Conservative author and filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza joined Dan Proft on Chicago’s Morning Answer to discuss his new movie, The Dragon’s Prophecy, a film inspired by Jonathan Cahn’s book that links current conflicts in the Middle East to biblical history and prophecy.
The film, which D’Souza describes as both a departure and a continuation of his work, explores Israel’s enduring claim to the land through history, treaties, and wars, while framing modern conflict in terms of spiritual warfare. The narrative connects Israel’s battles against Hamas and jihadist movements with ancient struggles between Israelites and Philistines, and introduces the symbolic “dragon” of Revelation as a metaphor for evil opposing God’s chosen people.
D’Souza also addressed broader geopolitical issues, arguing that Islamist terrorism against Israel is part of a global struggle that extends far beyond Gaza, with links to Iran, Turkey, and other regions. He contrasted Israel’s central role with less direct conflicts such as Ukraine, and said the West’s neglect of Christian persecution in Africa highlights a dangerous blind spot.
The conversation also touched on debates within American conservatism. D’Souza voiced concern over the emergence of an anti-Semitic fringe on the right, warning that it risks fracturing the pro-Trump coalition and undermining U.S. support for Israel. He pushed back against conspiratorial claims that he is serving as a tool of the “Jewish lobby,” stressing that his engagement with Israel stems from his Christian faith and personal support of biblical archaeology projects.
Looking ahead, D’Souza noted Donald Trump’s bold vision of transforming Gaza into a prosperous region, even as deep-rooted ideologies and global jihadist networks pose challenges. The Dragon’s Prophecy, he emphasized, seeks to show audiences the deeper spiritual stakes of the conflict, while also grounding its message in historical and archaeological evidence.
The film will debut with a limited theatrical release on October 6th and 8th, followed by streaming availability on SalemNOW beginning October 9th. Tickets and information are available at thedragonsprophecyfilm.com.
