He Was Fired for Telling a Student to Stand During the Pledge of Allegiance

Eisenhower High School, located in suburban Blue Island, fired driver’s education teacher Vince Ziebarth, after the teacher told a 15-year-old student that unless he started standing for the Pledge of Allegiance, he wouldn’t be riding with Ziebarth anymore.

Ziebarth joined Dan and Amy to explain exactly what happened with this student and how it resulted in his termination.

According to Ziebarth, when he met with the school principal, he wasn’t given the choice of complying with the administration’s directive or standing by his own principles. Rather, he was summarily fired.

“I wouldn’t have turned my back on an entire school just for this one stance,” Ziebarth recounted to Dan and Amy.
