Mayor Lightfoot Remains In Denial About Weekend Violence

Outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot defended her administration’s handling of large gatherings of teens after three teens were shot in two separate incidents over the weekend. Lightfoot claims that step have been taken to address the issue and encourages parents to partner with the city to provide safe spaces for their children. She disagreed with the use of the word, “mayhem,” to describe this weekend’s violence in the city.
