Texas-born outlaw country singer-songwriter Creed Fisher is bringing his raw, unfiltered brand of music to the Chicago suburbs with a headlining performance at The Piazza in Aurora on October 11. The stop is part of his Between Heaven and Hell Tour, inspired by the highs and lows of life on the road.
A Career Born from Hardship
Unlike many artists who chase music from a young age, Fisher didn’t pick up a guitar until he was 35. After a divorce left him searching for an outlet, he turned to songwriting as a form of therapy. With a loan from his father, he recorded his first album in Nashville in 2012 and spent years grinding it out in Texas venues before making the move to Austin. By 2019, he was drawing steady crowds and building the loyal fan base that has carried him nationwide.
Life-Changing Motorcycle Accident
Fisher’s career nearly came to a halt last year when a serious motorcycle accident left him with a broken pelvis and life-threatening injuries. He credits his survival to good fortune and grit. Despite being off the road for only 47 days, his recovery has stretched well into this year. The experience, he said, gave him a new outlook on life—reminding him not to “sweat the small stuff” and to remain grateful for every opportunity to perform.
Between Heaven and Hell
The title track of Fisher’s current tour was written years ago but reflects the dualities of his life as a touring musician—the temptations, the struggles, and the fulfillment of chasing a dream. Fisher describes it as a song about “living in the fast lane” while also balancing the grounding pull of home.
Musical Influences and Style
Fisher cites Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard as central influences, alongside rock icons like Ted Nugent and Black Sabbath. That blend of outlaw country grit and rock ’n’ roll edge defines his sound—a style that resonates with fans who crave authenticity in a polished music industry.
Upcoming Show
Fisher’s Between Heaven and Hell Tour runs nearly year-round, from January until just before Christmas. The Aurora show on October 11 promises a mix of new tracks and fan favorites delivered with the energy and honesty that has made him a standout in the outlaw country scene.
