U.S. Civil Rights Commission Takes Aim at Religious Liberty

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights released its report on Peaceful Coexistence (PDF) earlier this month. In the report, the commission clearly came down opposing religious liberty, writing, “Religious exemptions to the protections of civil rights based upon classifications such as race, color, national origin, sex, disability status, sexual orientation, and gender identity, when they are permissible, significantly infringe upon these civil rights.”

Dan and Amy welcomed Jim Towey, president of Ave Maria University, to the program to talk about his reaction to this report and to discuss the threats he sees to the religious freedom of religious colleges and universities.

There’s never been a presidency more hotiel to religious freedom than this one.
