Hiring slowed substantially in May as employers added 138,000 jobs but the disappointing showing likely won’t stop the Federal Reserve from raising interest rates this month. The unemployment rate fell from 4.4% to 4.3%. Scott Shellady with Fox Business Network joined Dan and Amy with reaction to the numbers:

Thursday, Illinois missed its deadline for a new budget. Friday, responding to that failure, respected debt-assessors Moody’s and S&P Global lowered their rating of the state’s debt to one level above junk. Governor Bruce Rauner joined Dan and Amy with reaction:

President Trump will pull the United States out of the Paris climate accord. All implementation of the non-binding portions of the agreement will cease to be enforced by the United States, he said. The decision fulfills a key promise Trump made on the campaign trail and overturns a major accomplishment by his predecessor, Barack Obama.

 

Former FBI Director James Comey will testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, June 8, regarding Russian interference in the 2016 election, committee leaders announced on Thursday.
