There won’t be a vote on the Senate health care bill this week, but progress is being made. Fox News Chief Congressional Correspondent Mike Emanuel joined Dan and Amy to talk about the next step in the process:

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski took the stage on Friday on Morning Joe to offer will be final dissection of the infamous Trump bleeding facelift tweet. The MSNBC morning show host — and engaged couple — shot back at the President after he tweeted remarkably negative and personal attacks on the two, calling them “Low IQ Crazy Mika and Psycho Joe” and alleging Mika was “bleeding badly from a facelift.” The nearly bipartisan admonition that followed flooded the news cycle for an entire day.

House Republicans took action Thursday to crack down on illegal immigrants and the cities that shelter them. Kate’s Law, which would increase the penalties for deported aliens who try to return to the United States and caught, passed with a vote of 257 to 157, with one Republican voting no and 24 Democrats voting yes. Kate’s Law is named for Kate Steinle, a San Francisco woman killed by an illegal immigrant who was in the U.S. despite multiple deportations. The two-year anniversary of her death is on Saturday.

Illinois Senate Republican leader Christine Radogno announced her resignation Thursday, another sign of the lack of progress at the Capitol as Illinois teeters toward a third year without a comprehensive spending plan.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has suggested Facebook is able to offer a sense of community, filling the gap left by falling church membership.
