Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan’s chief of staff was ordered to resign Wednesday after allegations of sexual harassment surfaced. The resignation came hours after a Madigan staffer came forward Wednesday morning to accuse Mapes of “multiple instances of bullying and harassment.”

 

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is the latest sports figure to weigh in on the controversy surrounding President Donald Trump uninviting the Philadelphia Eagles to the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl victory.

 

Ben Rhodes, former Deputy National Security Advisor for President Obama, told Andrea Mitchell it “worries” him that the government does not have the ability to access the Facebook feeds of private citizens and “edit” what they deem is “fake news.”

 

The Justice Department’s internal watchdog has concluded that James Comey defied authority at times during his tenure as FBI director, according to sources familiar with a draft report on the matter.

 

Paul Ryan said Wednesday that he had seen “no evidence” to back Trump’s assertion that the FBI wrongfully planted a spy in his campaign. Ryan also panned Trump’s argument that he has the power to pardon himself.

President Donald Trump has granted clemency to Alice Marie Johnson, a 63-year-old grandmother serving a life sentence for nonviolent drug offenses. Trump granted the clemency one week after meeting with Kim Kardashian West, who has publicly championed Johnson’s case.
