Supporters of a small, conservative “free speech rally” held Saturday in Boston said that despite being outnumbered by tens of thousands of counterprotesters, their event was a success. They said they were simply supporting free speech, but ended up getting lumped in with the violent Nazi rally in Charlottesville. Thousands of people protested against an alleged “white supremacist” rally in Boston on Saturday. Multiple outlets, journalists, politicians and other public figures declared that the event that drew an estimated 40,000 people to protest against was racist in nature.
